The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Name, address, email, telephone number
  • Photo ID in the form of passport or driving licence
  • Proof of your address, for example utility bill
  • Vet history
  • Behaviourist report

 

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • In the event you want to surrender a dog
  • In the event of you providing short term care for our dogs
  • You provide transportation for our dogs
  • In the event you want to foster or adopt one of our dogs

We use the information which you have given us in order to validate your identity to protect the dogs which we are rehoming. 

We may share this information with:

  • Microchip companies to change the ownership of the dog
  • Original Owners of the dog to enable them to contact you to discuss arrangements for the dog (with your permission)
  • Agria Pet Insurance to activate no obligation five weeks free insurance (with your permission)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are;

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

If you have registered with us to become a fosterer, adopter, short term care provider or emergency transport your details will remain on our database until you request they are removed.

We keep the documents which you provide to prove your identity on a secure drive in Google Docs for 90 days. We will then dispose of your information by deleting all copies of documents from our drives.

In the event you adopt a dog your name, address and email are kept for the period which the dog remains in your custody.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
